HUNT STAFF
HUNTSMAN DOUG RUSSELL
Professional Huntsman Doug Russell comes from a long line of Fox Hunters and horsemen and came to LCH in 2019. He and his son, Colton, spend our season in New York, caring for our pack and kennel, then return south to their home in North Carolina for the winter, taking the pack along to rest up in warmer climes.
WHIPS
Whippers-in, or simply "whips", are responsible for keeping the pack safe from busy roads and inside of allowed areas while the hunt is in progress. They assist the huntsman in moving the pack from one cast to the next and turn both pack and prey by cracking their whips loudly when necessary. Many members of the LCH field, as well as the masters, will pitch in with the whipping when needed, but there are three primary whips who show up and ride hard every hunt.
BILL DAY
Bill and his horse Raider joined the hunt in 2014 and began whipping-in shortly afterwards.

KEITH GILBRAITH

LYSSA BRENNAN
Lyssa joined LCH in 2019 an jumped right into the hot seat as a whip, catching rides on member-horses as she can.
